Authors must also supply:

  • an electronic copy of the final version (see section below),
  • a Copyright Transfer Agreement with original signature of first author - without this we are unable to accept the submission.

Submitted manuscripts should not have been previously published and should not be submitted for publication elsewhere while they are under consideration by Publisher. Submitted material will not be returned to the author unless specifically requested. All manuscripts will be peer-refereed. Authors are invited to identify three suitable referees.

Electronic submission. The electronic copy of the final, revised manuscript must be sent to the Editor together with the paper copy and e-mail.

Manuscript style. The language of the journal is English and Turkish. All submissions including book reviews must have a title, be printed on one side of the paper, be doubleline spaced and have a margin of 3cm all round. Illustrations and tables must be printed on separate sheets, and not be incorporated into the text.

  • The title page must list the full title (in English and Turkish) and names and affiliations of all authors. Give the full address, including email, telephone and fax, of the author who is to check the proofs.
  • Supply an abstract of up to 200 words in English and Turkish for all articles. An abstract is a concise summary of the whole paper, not just the conclusions, and is understandable without reference to the rest of the paper. It should contain no citation to other published work and consist of a series of short, numbered statements.
  • Include up to 20 keywords that describe your paper for indexing purposes.
  • Divide your article into sections entitled Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion Conclusion and Acknowledgements unless the nature of the paper justifies an alternative format.

Reference style. References should be quoted in the text as name and year within brackets and listed at the end of the paper alphabetically. Where reference is made to more than one work by the same author published in the same year, identify each citation in the text as follows: (Kazancı 1990a, 1990b). Where three or more authors are listed in the reference list, please cite in the text as (Kazancı et al. 1998)

All references must be complete and accurate. References should be listed in the following style:

  1. Kazancı, N., Girgin, S. and Dügel, M., 2004. On the limnology of Salda Lake, a large and deep soda lake in south-western Turkey: future management proposals,
Aquatic Conservation: Marine and Freshwater Ecosystems 14: 151-162.
  2. Wetzel, R.G., 1983. Limnology, CBS College Publishers, New York.
  3. James, A., 1979. The value of biological indicators in relation to other parameters of water quality,
Pages 1–114 in A. James and L. Evison (eds.), Biological indicators of water quality, John Wiley and Sons, Chichester, UK.

Illustrations. Supply each illustration on a separate sheet, with the lead author’s name and the figure number, with the top of the figure indicated, on the reverse. Supply original photographs; photocopies or previously printed material will not be used. Line artwork must be high-quality laser output (not photocopies). Tints are not acceptable; lettering must be of a reasonable size that would still be clearly legible upon reduction, and consistent within each figure and set of figures.

Copyright. To enable the publisher to disseminate the author’s work to the fullest extent, the first author must sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement, transferring copyright in the article from the author to the publisher, and submit the original signed agreement with the article presented for publication. The copyright form is available from the website.

Proofs. Proofs will be sent to the author for checking. This stage is to be used only to correct errors that may have been introduced during the production process. Prompt return of the corrected proofs, preferably within two weeks of receipt, will minimise the risk of the paper being held over to a later issue; and 10 offprints will be provided to the author who checked the proofs, unless otherwise indicated. Further offprints and copies of the journal may be ordered. There is no page charge to authors.
